FEAR – False Evidence Appearing Real

FEAR – False Evidence Appearing Real

I heard the wordFEAR” defined by a pastor friend I know as “False Evidence Appearing Real.”  If you think about it, there’s much truth to that.

Isn’t that what horror is all about?  Who’s in the closet?  What’s under my bed?  Will I survive?  Will I ever find true love?  All topics people fear have to do with things that either have not yet happened and/or will never happen.

Fear is a tool of the enemy.  God didn’t give it to you.  He gave you power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

How can you deal with fear?  The Love Sword is the answer.  “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…” (1 John 4:18).  If you don’t want to deal with fear anymore you need to know God.  God is love (1 John 4:8).

If there is something you fear, give it to God through prayer and intercession.  God will give you actionable steps to resolve the problem, and sometimes He will want you to trust Him to deal with it for you.  …and trust me, He’s BIG enough to handle it!  😉

  1. I have a lot of questions and prayer requests. I liked the answers you gave to the questions on your sword app and how you gave the locations in The Bible from where the answers came. Thank you.

  2. I have a question. I have decided to live as a hermit because everyone i knew was constantly trying to get me to do things against god. Am i right in choosing this way of life? I tried hard to turn them to god but i was unsuccessful. I dont know what else to do.

    • Hey Jimmy, hope all is well. So sorry for the long delay! All resources internally were pulled to support the game we are currently developing rather than the website for the last few months. This unfortunately meant not answering questions posted directly to the site (though we did answer questions sent via email and social media).

The short answer is sometimes we have to get away. Jesus said if a body part causes you to sin then cut it off. It is this writer’s belief that this point can also apply to friends and social hangouts. But there is also the point mentioned about Christians needing to be “salt” and “light” of the world. That means sometimes we need to look at how we can help preserve or bring God’s light to others.

Staying sharp is not about protecting your blade from ever being dull. It is about sharpening with other iron and then cutting down the bad stuff that’s near you! So, yes, protect yourself from sin. But when you are all charged up with the Lord go out and use your strong blade to spread light!

Hope this helps! If we ever respond slow to the site please feel free to reach out at connect@swordsharp.com! We love you and thank you for your question!

      Be well. Stay sharp.
